special education legal protections amidst COVID-19 school closures.
Key points:
(a) students with disabilities were not adequately served in spring 2020 and there is major concern about what service delivery will look like in the fall;
(b) schools must develop clear plans (and contingency plans) for how they will meet the procedures of IDEA and communicate these; and
(c) ongoing parent involvement is absolutely critical to ensuring that kids' needs are being met.
